Originated in Los Angeles
circa 1975 as a company that designed and produced Stichery
Kits for home use. Creative Circle used independent
representatives to sell the kits through party plan sales
techniques. Creative Circle became well known in the field of
stichery kits with many innovative and quality products.
Creative Circle closed in 1988.
January 1988 - July 1991: Circle
Leader for Creative Circle
- Responsible for supervising
seven to ten sales representatives. I recruited new sales
representatives for my circle, gave them instruction in
sales techniques such as teaching prospects how to
stitch, how to organize parties and how to close orders.
I coordinated efforts among the people in my circle and
motivated them to be good sales people.
- Actively participated and
organized major annual sales events such as a booth at
the Santa Clara County Fair and the San Mateo County Fair.
Displays of completed stichery kits made by sales
representatives attracted interested customers. Live
demonstrations of stitching were going on constantly.
- I received many awards from
Creative Circle company and my immediate circle
supervisor which reflected the quality of effort and
success I had in selling stichery kits.
- Along with being a Circle
Leader, I maintained my own personal sales efforts,
stitching display kits organizing parties and closing
sales. I particularly enjoyed giving instruction on
stitching to others.
January 1987 - January 1988:
Independent Representative for Creative Circle.
Responsible for selling
stichery kits. Kits were sold primarily through home or
office parties. At the parties, I showed my completed
kits, gave instruction in stichery and described the fun
of stichery. Classes were taught for cross stitch, needle
point, embroidery, lace net darning, crewel and Stitch 'n
Stuff. Each participant received a sample kit, for their
own, which they completed at the party. This hands-on
experience increased skill levels and motivated interest
to do more stichery.
